One of the biggest questions by Avon representatives is, “How do I get my Avon eStore seen by more people”? As a person who has had some blogging experience as well as some online marketing experience, here are some tips to help you get your Avon eStore seen by more people.
Blogging
The best way to get people to your Avon eStore is to set up a free blog using WordPress.com or blogger.com. This site (You.Beautifully) is on a hosted WordPress site and is a bit more complicated to set up, but if you prefer it over a free site you can probably hire someone to help you with it. But, in the mean time, you can get a free site set up within just a matter of minutes using either one of those mentioned above.
Once you have your site set up, you will want to start blogging. If you’re not familiar with blogging, it’s basically an online journal, but much more powerful. You can blog about your favorite Avon products and link the article to your Avon eStore. You want to be sure everything, every image and every blog post has a link to your Avon eStore.
Blogging Tips
When blogging, be sure to use one or two images in each blog post. Images attract readers to your article, plus you can then “Pin” your blog post to Pinterest, and so can other readers.
Be sure to use lots of “searchable text”. Search Engines like Google and Yahoo look for text when someone conducts a search. You will want to use keywords and key phrases at least 3 times throughout the content of your post that your target audience will search for and therefore find your blog, which in turn will help you get more people to your eStore.
What to Blog About
With Avon, there is always something to blog about! You can blog about your favorite products to start with. You can blog about why you love your Avon business. You can blog about new products coming out. You can blog about how Avon has helped you pay off debt or get a new car. You can tell a funny story that happened while you were out delivering orders or brochures. If you get writer’s block, just look at your email and your Avon eStore for inspiration.
Use Social Media to Get People to your eStore
On youravon.com in your web office is a the Social Media Center. There you will find all the tools you need for promoting your Avon eStore on Social Media like Facebook, Pinterest and Twitter. When you use those tools, the link to your eStore is automatically built in. The best times to post on Facebook are between 6 and 8am and 2 to 5pm on Weekdays. On Twitter the best times to post are on the Weekends between 1 and 3pm. (Source: http://www.mediabistro.com/alltwitter/best-time-post-twitter-facebook_b58802)
Use a Facebook Fan Page for your Business
You’ve probably heard of using Facebook Fan Pages for your business, but maybe not quite sure how to go about it. They are pretty easy to set up and you can use the Social Media Center on youravon.com for your cover photo. The idea is to brand yourself as an Independent Avon Representative. Be sure to indicate in the name of your blog that you’re an Avon Independent Sales Representative or an Avon Lady. It is against Avon policy to promote yourself as Avon Products, Inc., or the Avon Company.
Once you get your page set up, you will want to invite all your Facebook friends to “like” it. This is actually one of the steps in the setup process so be sure not to skip over this important step. Then start joining direct sales groups and business promotion groups to find other people outside your friends circle.
After you get some people to like your page, you can post Free Shipping Codes, Special Deals and Promotions, product recommendations and much more. You can set up your Social Media Center on youravon.com to connect right to your Facebook Page instead of your personal profile. (Don’t worry, you can toggle the drop down box to choose your Page or your Profile.)
A Couple of Things to Remember When Posting on Facebook
1. Images get the most attention so be sure to include an image in your post.
2. If not using the Social Media Center, you will need to type in the link to your Avon eStore in the text of your post.
Using Twitter and Pinterest
Twitter is an interesting creature and is actually considered a microblog. You use 140 characters or less to get your message across. You can make ‘tweeting’ effortless and seamless by connecting your Facebook profile or Page to your Twitter account, so that each time you post on your Facebook page or profile, you automatically ‘tweet’ the same thing (only shortened) on Twitter. This is done in the set up process for Twitter or you can change it in the Settings on Twitter.
As with Facebook, you want to brand yourself as an Independent Avon Representative. You can use the images in your Social Media Center for your cover photo. Check out my profile here and feel free to “follow” me. I’ll follow you back!
Pinterest is fun (IMO) and uses images linked to websites and blogs. It’s a great way to save stuff you find on the web! Once your blog is set up, create a post using an image of your favorite Avon products and then “Pin” it to Pinterest. When setting up your Pinterest profile you should get the option of adding a “Pin It” button to your web browser’s tool bar. Again, be sure to brand yourself as an Avon Independent Sales Rep and not as the company Avon or Avon Products. Check out my Pinterest Profile and add me!
In the near future, I will post more in depth details for beginners on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. If you have questions though, please connect with me on Facebook or email me using the form below.
